“Before we are swept away in the world’s chaos, draw closer to Allah, remember Him and seek His help.” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

On 25 January 2026, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a meeting with Majlis Ansarullah (Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association) from France.

His Holiness presided the meeting from MTA Studios in Islamabad, Tilford.

Following a silent prayer, His Holiness addressed the attendees, inviting each member to introduce themselves and enquiring about their background and responsibilities within Ansarullah. Members of Majlis Ansarullah were then given the opportunity to ask His Holiness questions relating to their faith and contemporary issues.

One attendee observed that Allah the Almighty has placed great blessings in time during the era of Khilafat and noted that, despite the demands of time, remarkable results are being achieved. He then asked His Holiness to guide the members on how, with the Grace of Allah, such outcomes can be attained.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“Establish a connection with Allah and try to use whatever skills you have for the pleasure of Allah, rather than for your own personal interests. Only then can you become true helpers of Khilafat and the Khalifa of the time. When you become helpers, work with sincere intention, and strive to earn Allah’s pleasure, Allah will grant you the ability to do the utmost work, and you will also strive to benefit from it. However, if personal interests dominate, if you pull each other down and argue over petty matters, then not only will you harm yourselves, but you may cause harm in the community too.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“Therefore, if you want to truly benefit [the Community], try to do everything for the pleasure of Allah the Almighty. I have shared these points many times in my sermons. At present, I am discussing the life and example of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which I have also covered in the past. So, you should reflect upon this and observe it.”

An attendee asked His Holiness for guidance on how to overcome the challenges posed by worldly obligations, needs, or circumstances while striving to uphold the pledge of prioritising religion over worldly life.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“If you are working for the pleasure of Allah, if at every opportunity Allah’s pleasure is given precedence, then you will also prioritise religion. I repeatedly emphasise that you ought to always give precedence to seeking the pleasure of Allah… The pleasure of Allah must come first. When it does, all your problems will also be resolved, and you will fulfil the pledge of prioritising religion over worldly life. Otherwise, when you take an oath, Allah will ask you about it, and you will be questioned about your commitments in the Hereafter. Therefore, if one fears Allah, one naturally understands the importance of keeping one’s pledges. When a person knows that they have faults, they should try to correct them. It is said: the sleeping can be roused, but one who is already awake cannot be stirred.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“You can take examples from the incidents I narrate in my Friday sermons, from the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and from various speeches. The purpose of presenting the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is so that we may have examples to follow, so that we can emulate the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). If we act upon this, we can become an exemplary Jama‘at (community). Even a small Jama‘at such as in France, if it fulfils the pledge of giving precedence faith over worldly life, can bring about a spiritual revolution, despite all the material obstacles in society.”

During the session, one attendee asked His Holiness how Ahmadis living in countries that are divided into different blocs, where tensions and the threat of war are escalating, can cultivate awareness and take the necessary steps to protect themselves from discord and war.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“Be vigilant yourselves and also make others vigilant in your own environments, for we are moving closer [towards a war]. For the past twenty years, I have been speaking about this — that we are moving closer and closer… Earlier, people used to say, ‘No, we are not heading that way; you are being extreme; your thinking is too negative.’ Now, the same people whom I used to address have begun to say, ‘Yes, you were right. We are heading that way.’”

Commenting on the deepening division of blocs across the world, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“The UN was established so that we could live in unity. However, they began introducing inequalities, giving veto power to some countries and granting them authority to override majority decisions. Even a single person’s influence then leads to the result that justice is not maintained. When justice is not upheld, the fire that is slowly smoldering grows over time. And when a reckless leader comes to power, as is happening in the United States nowadays, divisions multiply. He declares, ‘I do not follow the UN; my own law will prevail.’ Then everyone will strive for their own survival – how can I remain alive? They will form groups, and when groups are formed, factions emerge. Whoever has power will dominate or subdue their opponents or bring them under their influence – even if this does not result in actual war, as is happening today.”

Following this, His Holiness reflected on the steps Ahmadis should take in response to these global developments and emphasised the importance of turning towards Allah.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“For this, we must pray ourselves and make others vigilant. Pay attention and work harder on how we can try to establish peace in the world. Yet, from the outside, it seems as if there is little or no hope. When the situation reaches that point and destruction envelops the world, people will then turn towards religion and Allah, as per the prophecy of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). Before we are swept away in the world’s chaos and destroyed in this way, draw closer to Allah, remember Him and seek His help. The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) has said, ‘There is a fire, but all those shall be saved from this fire who possess love for the God of Great Wonders.’ When love for Allah is established, and all actions are performed for His sake, then you yourselves will be saved and, to some extent, you will also save the world. Otherwise, there will be destruction. How exactly that will unfold, Allah knows best.”

One attendee asked whether, if destiny has already been decreed by Allah the Almighty, people still have any part to play in their actions and outcomes, or whether everything occurs entirely by His will.

His Holiness explained that Allah the Almighty has not decreed destiny in a way that prevents a person from choosing righteousness. He emphasised that Taqdeer-e-Ilahi (Divine Predetermination), a book written by the second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him), should be studied and reflected upon. He further illustrated this point with the example of a man who had committed one hundred murders: when the man sincerely turned towards righteousness and sought Allah’s pleasure, Allah forgave him despite his past sins.

His Holiness stated:

“It was not Allah’s Decree that he must be destroyed or inevitably cast into Hell. Allah knew he would commit sins, but in the end, Allah’s Decree determined that he be forgiven, because he inclined towards righteousness. Thus, through one’s final actions, a person can change their destiny. Therefore, it is not right to assume that, ‘This is destiny; we should do nothing and simply sit idle; if we are to commit sins, then we will commit them anyway; we are destined for Hell.’”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“Allah the Almighty is Most Forgiving, and He does forgive. You are responsible for what you do, but if you wish and a realisation awakens within you, then reflect on how you can seek Allah’s protection, how you can please Him, and how you can attain His reward. It is for this very reason that Allah the Almighty has established repentance and seeking forgiveness for human beings. To say that ‘Because this is destiny, it must happen this way,’ or that ‘We have no purpose that we can actually achieve’ – this is incorrect. If Allah the Almighty has set a goal for you to attain something, then you must strive and exert effort for it. When you strive and make the effort, Allah will bring forth its outcome. And if you do not make the effort, then Allah already knows that you will not strive, and that will be the outcome. However, if at any moment you develop awareness, Allah has not made any promise that He will inevitably punish you. Allah has instilled a sense of accountability, and Allah’s decisions can change when a person changes their actions.”

Towards the end of the session, an attendee asked His Holiness how members can practically demonstrate their commitment to the pledge of ‘Nahnu Ansarullh’ (We are the helpers of Allah) and what workers and office-bearers of Majlis Ansarullah should focus on to ensure they are striving to fulfill their responsibilities.

His Holiness encouraged Ansar to revisit his Friday sermons, as well as the address he delivered at the National Ijtema of Ansarullah two years ago on this topic, and other meetings where he has elaborated on this guidance.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“If there is genuine fear of Allah and your actions are for His pleasure, then [the pledge of] ‘Nahnu Ansarullah’ (We are the helpers of Allah) will truly be realised. Otherwise, it remains only a slogan – empty words, with no substance. Strive to act upon ‘Nahnu Ansarullah’ and demonstrate that every action you take is for the sake of Allah, serving as helpers of the Khalifa of the time and supporters of the true cause. Allah will then bless your efforts. Reflect on yourselves – who is there to judge you? Assess your day: How much attention did I give to Allah? How well did I fulfil the rights of worship? How well did I uphold the rights of Allah’s creation? How many good deeds did I perform? What effort did I make to increase my religious knowledge? What did I do to propagate Allah’s message? By doing so, ‘Nahnu Ansarullah’ will become a living reality.”

The meeting concluded with a group photo, after which His Holiness graciously gifted pens to the attendees. His Holiness then conveyed his greetings, marking an end to the meeting.
