On 23 January 2026, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, delivered this week’s Friday Sermon from the Mubarak Mosque in Islamabad, Tilford, UK.

His Holiness continued his discourse from the previous sermon, further elaborating on the love and devotion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for Allah the Almighty.

At the outset, His Holiness explained that the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), as the most devoted and true servant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), beautifully and eloquently portrayed in his writings the Holy Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) unmatched standard of worship and devotion to Allah the Almighty.

Regarding this, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), who was the most devoted and true servant of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), has presented vivid portrayals and references illustrating the lofty status of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his profound love for Allah the Almighty.”

Thereafter, His Holiness recounted several well-known incidents from the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that illustrated the depth of his devotion to Allah the Almighty.

In addition, His Holiness quoted passages from the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), which described the lofty status of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the spiritual revolution he brought about, reshaping the course of human history forever.

His Holiness proceeded to quote Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who described the matchless standard of worship of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

His Holiness said:

“Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that on one occasion, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeatedly recited a single verse [of the Holy Qur’an] after Surah al-Fatihah before bowing… the length of his standing, bowing, and prostration was so prolonged and [his worship] so beautiful that words cannot do justice to describing it!”

His Holiness described the state of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the night before the Battle of Badr, the first armed conflict faced by the Muslims, who had gathered to defend their lives and families. Only around 313 Muslims faced the aggressor army of approximately one thousand Quraysh fighters determined to eliminate Islam and its Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“Facing the direction of the Qiblah, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised both his hands and called upon his Lord, praying:

‘O Allah, fulfil for me that You have promised. O Allah, grant me what You have pledged. O Allah, if this small group of Muslims is destroyed, then You will no longer be worshipped on the earth.’

With his face turned towards the Qiblah and his hands outstretched, he continued to supplicate aloud with intense fervour, calling upon his Lord repeatedly. Such was the depth of his weeping and humility in prayer that his body trembled, and his cloak slipped from his shoulders as he remained absorbed in supplication.”

His Holiness explained that the following verse of the Holy Qur’an, which promised victory to the Muslims, was revealed to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):

“When you implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you, saying, ‘I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, following one another.’” [The Holy Qur’an Chapter 8:10]

His Holiness explained that despite receiving this glad tiding from Allah the Almighty, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) continued to pray with deep humility and earnestness. His Holiness highlighted that this served as a lesson for all; that true trust in Allah is accompanied by persistent prayer and turning to Him in every circumstance.

Towards the end of his sermon, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad read the following excerpt from the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him).

The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) said:

“The highest and most exalted light that was granted to humankind, that is, to the Perfect Man, was not found among the angels, nor among the stars. It was not in the moon, nor even in the sun. It was not present in the seas or rivers of the earth, nor in rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds, or pearls. In short, it was not found in any earthly or heavenly thing.

Rather, it was found only in man, that is, in the Perfect Man, whose most complete, most perfect, highest and loftiest embodiment is our master and guide, the Chief of all Prophets and the Leader of all the living, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Thus, this light was bestowed upon that Perfect Man, and according to rank and degree, it was also granted to all those who share in his spiritual colour, that is, to those who partake of that same divine hue to some extent. This lofty and perfect station was found in its fullest and most complete form in our master, our guide, our leader, the unlettered Prophet, the truthful and affirmed Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”
