“My prayers will work when you are working hard and praying yourself.” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

On 16 November 2025, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), granted an audience to the National Amila (executive) of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Holland. Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya – the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association – is an auxiliary organisation dedicated to the spiritual and moral development of the Community’s youth.

During the meeting, members of the Amila had the opportunity to introduce themselves and seek guidance from His Holiness on a range of matters relating to their responsibilities and the challenges facing young people.

Early in the audience, His Holiness advised the members that every office-bearer must study and fully understand the constitution of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya. He emphasised that each individual should also study the constitution of their respective department, as it serves as an essential framework for carrying out their duties.

Thereafter, an attendee requested prayers from His Holiness. In response, His Holiness reminded the Amila that true success requires personal effort and dedication. His Holiness added that his prayers would bring blessings only when each member strives to meet their objectives with commitment and hard work.

With regards to this, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“My prayers will work when you are working hard and praying yourself.”

Another attendee asked His Holiness how they could ensure that all members of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya in Holland feel included and are able to benefit from programmes, noting that some members speak only Urdu and struggle to engage with Dutch-language activities, while others speak only Dutch and cannot understand programmes conducted in Urdu.

In response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“When you assess your regions, determine how many members primarily speak Dutch or the local language and do not understand Urdu, and how many understand Urdu but not the local language. Plan your programmes accordingly. If, in your programmes, the majority are Urdu speakers, then seventy percent of the programme should be in Urdu and thirty percent in Dutch. If Dutch speakers are in the majority, then majority should be in Dutch and some parts in Urdu. It all depends on your demographics and numbers.

Further, when you hold meetings, instead of only giving speeches yourselves, ask the members to participate… When they themselves take part, their interest will develop, and the programme will naturally become engaging for both groups.”

One attendee sought His Holiness’ guidance regarding the growing trend among some young male members of the Community who feel drawn towards certain Western fashion practices, such as wearing gold jewellery and obtaining tattoos.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“They require proper moral training. Explain to them what responsibilities Islam has placed upon men. These adornments and such things are for women. First, become true men and fulfil the duties that have been assigned to you. And what are those duties? To establish a living relationship with God and to convey the message of Islam to the world… Train the Atfal [children of the Community], so that when they enter Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya they already understand these matters.”
