Jalsa Salana Germany 2024 Concludes with Faith Inspiring Address
More than 42,000 people from all over the world attend three-day religious convention in Mendig
“If we have a strong relationship with Allah, we shall never elevate worldly people to the status of gods.” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 25 August 2024, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad concluded the 48th Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Germany with an inspirational address.
His Holiness presided over the concluding session virtually from the Masroor Hall in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst more than 42,000 people gathered at the Jalsa site in Mendig, Germany.
His Holiness delivered a powerful address expanding on the proofs of the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) in reference to his writings and modern-day examples of miracles and signs in support of his truth.
As His Holiness began the address, he spoke of the opposition faced by the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“The opponents (of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) are so blinded that even though they acknowledge the necessity of the time for a reformer, they are not willing to accept Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) as the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. They are ready to believe in the return of the prophet of the Israelites and accept him as the Promised Messiah, but they are not willing to accept the one who, according to the prophecy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Promise of Allah, has come in the servitude of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to renew the faith.”
His Holiness mentioned that despite the fact that heavenly signs and miracles have been manifested in support of the claim of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), the opponents have shut their eyes to the truth.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Yet, this is the Promised Messiah sent by Allah, and therefore, despite the opposition, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to progress and flourish with the Help of Allah and He is fulfilling His promises. Every year, hundreds of thousands of fortunate souls are joining this movement, thereby placing themselves under the true servitude of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).”
In reference to the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), His Holiness mentioned how, in his era, colonial powers had utilised every method to defile the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and resorted to spending money “like water” towards this cause.
It was through the advent of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), His Holiness said, that God Almighty protected Islam by refuting the false propaganda levelled against it.
Referring to such propaganda by the Christian missionaries at the time, His Holiness quoted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) who said:
“In order to thwart this enchantment, God Almighty granted this miracle to the true Muslims of the present age by sending this servant of His to confront the enemies—having honoured him with His revelation and word and His special blessings, and having bestowed upon him perfect understanding of the subtle intricacies of His path, and having granted him a multitude of heavenly wonders and miracles, and spiritual insights and subtleties—so that this Heavenly Stone may smash the waxen idol prepared by European sorcery.
“Therefore – O Muslims!—the coming of this humble one is a miracle from God to dispel the darkness of this spell. Was it not demanded that a miracle should also appear in the world to confront this sorcery? Is this idea so strange and incredible in your eyes that God Almighty should manifest such a divine radiance as bears the impact of a miracle to confront the most egregious degree of wile, which has accrued up to the true [deceptive] nature of magic?”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“In one of his poetic compositions, the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) stated that, ‘This was indeed the appointed time for none other than the Messiah to come; Had I not come, someone else would have surely come.’”
Continuing his address, His Holiness elucidated categorical signs and prophecies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) which manifested in the form of the devastating outbreak of a plague and the celestial signs of the solar and lunar eclipse in 1894 and 1895 in the support of his claim in line with the prophecies, which served as a means of guidance for many across the world.
His Holiness said that all the prophecies that were relating to the time of the Promised Messiah were fulfilled in the time of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) and divine support accompanied the Promised Messiah throughout his life.
One such example narrated by His Holiness was the miracle that was manifested at the Conference of Great Religions in 1896. His Holiness mentioned that the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) was once requested to write an article about the verities of Islam for the conference, whereupon the Promised Messiah (peace upon him) prayed fervently to God for the success of the discourse. Once the article had been completed in writing, the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) received the revelation: “This paper has been declared supreme over all others”. His Holiness then mentioned that over twenty newspapers, both in Urdu and in English, testified that the paper transcended all others.
Commenting on the lecture, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Even today, the beauty of this lecture is praised. Not only in his time, but even now, that lecture continues to impress people by showcasing the beautiful teachings of Islam. That lecture has been published under the title ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’. Every year, countless letters and reports mention how this book has impacted people.”
His Holiness narrated an example of one such individual from Mali, where a man visited an Ahmadiyya Muslim Community book stall and, upon recognising an Ahmadi Musim missionary, he embraced him with tears of joy. He revealed that two years earlier, he had read ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ and was deeply moved by its message. After praying for guidance, he saw a dream that the author was the true guide for Islam in this era. Lacking any contact with the community, he was unable to pursue the matter further. However, upon discovering the stall, he became overjoyed, embraced the missionary with delight and expressed his desire to pledge allegiance to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Explaining the countless signs manifested in favour of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad quoted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) who stated:
“God Almighty has granted me thousands of such signs, which result in a captivating belief in the existence of Allah the Almighty… Have not a large number from among the godly and holy and those who are righteous and pious, and who possess intelligence and insight in every respect, and who are well-established in terms of employment, been satisfied? Have these people not witnessed such things which could never be within the power of man to achieve? If these people are questioned, each and every one of them will declare themselves to be the first of those who bear witness in this respect.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further quoted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) who states:
“Is it possible for people from all walks of life… to proclaim that they have witnessed so many heavenly signs with their own eyes if they were first not fully satisfied themselves? And when such people do actually declare what I have said—and anyone who denies this fact is free to confirm it—then in view of this collective testimony, one ought to reflect over the conclusion that a seeker of truth will arrive upon, if in fact, they are truly a seeker of the truth.”
As the Jalsa Salana drew to a close, His Holiness reminded all Ahmadi Muslims of their responsibilities and referred to recent events taking place in Pakistan whereby certain decisions have been made in courts against Ahmadi Muslims that defy principles of justice and humanity.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“In recent days, some people made harsh comments about a decision made by the Pakistani court. We do not need to respond to such comments. If we have a strong relationship with Allah, we do not need to elevate worldly people to the status of gods. We should bow before the One and Only God even more profoundly so that He may ease our difficulties and defeat our enemies. Instead of speaking ill of others, we should immerse ourselves more in prayers and focus on the prayers. May Allah grant us this ability. Pray for the general state of the world as well. The world is on the brink of disaster and does not recognise its Creator. May Allah grant people the understanding and protect every Ahmadi Muslim from the devastation of war and other calamities.”
