Members of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya the Gambia have Honour of a Virtual Meeting with the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
“…I can see how strong and staunch the people of the Community are in their faith. I can see the love for Khilafat on their faces…” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 29 May 2021, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a virtual online meeting with members of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Auxiliary) from the Gambia.
His Holiness presided the meeting from his office in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst the members of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya joined virtually from the National Headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, The Gambia in Banjul.
Following a formal session, which included a video presentation of activities of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya the Gambia, those in presence had the opportunity to ask His Holiness a series of questions regarding their faith and contemporary issues.
One of the Khuddam asked His Holiness how he could serve the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and his country.
Explaining how a Khadim can best serve the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“You are ‘Khuddamul Ahmadiyya’ – the servants of Allah and so the best way is that you be sincere and honest with all your work… The best way is that, being a Khadim, you should always be ready to discharge whatever duty is assigned in order to serve the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.”
Advising on how Ahmadi Muslim youth should serve their country, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“To serve your country you should always be honest and sincere. For example, if you are working in a government department, you should be very much sincere and honest. People should know that, ‘He is the person who is hardworking and honest and sincere with his work. He is sincere with the country. He loves the country.’ We always say that ‘love of the country is part of your faith’ and so if you have this thing in mind, then you will serve your country whilst considering it an essential part of your faith. So, these are the things you should always keep in mind – that be sincere, honest with your work – whether you are serving the country or the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.”
Another Khadim asked how Africa can become self-sufficient and develop.
Giving a detailed response Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad explained:
“Every nation that works hard will develop and achieve their targets. The first thing is that you should give more emphasis to education. Your literacy rate should be very high – not simply that every student gets primary education but the target of the African governments should be that every person in their country, whether it is a girl or boy, man or woman, should be highly educated. The minimum requirement should be secondary education and if it is graduation (from university) that will be much better. If you are educated and your literacy rate is high, it will broaden your mind. You will try to see what the world is doing, where the world is going and will then set your own goals, targets and objectives.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“Be honest and sincere in your work. If you are a teacher, you should fully concentrate on teaching your students with full preparation. If you are a bureaucrat, you should be very sincere and honest with your work and try hard to achieve the ultimate objective of your assignment and complete it within the prescribed time. So work hard, be honest and sincere to your work and to your nation and that will help you to develop. The basic thing, as I have said, is education. Every person should strive to get better education. And use that knowledge and wisdom for the betterment of your nation and for the service of your nation.”
Another question related to how materialism could be avoided in order to stay closer to one’s faith.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad responded:
“The best way is that you discharge the duties you owe to Allah by praying to Him. Be staunch and strong in your faith, believing that Allah the Almighty listens to your prayers, hears your prayers and then pray to Him that He saves you from materialism.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad went on and said:
“Secondly, try to follow the commandments given to us in the Holy Quran and follow the practice of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said don’t look towards a person who is materially or wealth-wise above you. Always look towards the person who is – with regards to the worldly things – less than you. However, with regards to one’s spiritual level, always look toward that person who is spiritually and morally of a higher standard and of a higher level. In this way you will change your priorities. Instead of following the materialistic things, or the people who are materialistic, you will try to follow those people who are spiritually and morally good.”
One of the attendees asked if His Holiness was benefiting from conducting the virtual meetings with various chapters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community around the world.
His Holiness asked him if he was deriving benefit from the meetings, to which the Khadim replied that he was certainly benefiting from the advice and answers of His Holiness by watching the video clips on YouTube of the previous virtual meetings of His Holiness broadcast on MTA international.
Thereafter, His Holiness mentioned how the virtual meetings were affording him the opportunity to see first-hand the spirit and faith of the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“At least one benefit which I get from these virtual meetings is that I can see your faces. I can see how strong and staunch the people of the Community are in their faith. I can see the love for Khilafat on their faces, as I can see on your face. So this is the benefit which I am also getting from these virtual meetings.”
Another Khadim asked His Holiness how the Hereafter can be proven.
His Holiness said that the prophecies of the Prophets of God have been proven true and so their testimony regarding life after death ought to be sufficient for the believers.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“All the prophets, when they come, they give us some glad tidings and also warn us against some things. They make some prophecies and we observe how those prophecies have been fulfilled… So our experience shows that whatever the prophets say is true. And they have told us there is a life in the Hereafter which is an eternal life and Allah the Almighty will reward those who do good deeds in this world and will punish those people who are not following the commandments of Allah the Almighty, who are not discharging their duties towards Him and towards their fellow beings.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further explained:
“If you have faith in Him then Allah the Almighty will also show you some signs. There are quite a number of people who have seen in their dreams or Allah the Almighty has shown them in some other way about the life after death.”
