Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad addresses concluding session

The third International Conference of Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTA) concluded on 13 April 2014 with an address by the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and Fifth Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.

39 delegates from 20 countries attended the three-day conference which was held at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in South-West London.

During the course of the event the delegates attended a variety of workshops and presentations organised by MTA International. The delegates were also able to take part in one-to-one sessions with representatives of different departments of MTA International.

The highlight of the conference was the concluding address given by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad during which he urged all MTA Studios to continuously improve their standards of production and reminded the delegates of their responsibilities to promote the real and peaceful teachings of Islam throughout the world.

Speaking about the type of programmes that MTA should produce, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“Remember, any programmes you produce should be of the highest standards and should be those that fulfil the needs of the time… On the one hand, we should create programmes that are a means of Tarbiyyat (moral training) for all people – whether young or old, man or woman, adult or child.

On the other hand, we should make programmes that are a means of preaching the truth of Islam and that remove all doubts and suspicions which can arise in the minds of young people in particular. Thus programmes which answer questions related to modern-day society and contemporary issues should be produced on a regular basis by MTA.”

The Khalifa said that in the Quran, God Almighty had praised those people who spread the truth and that in this era MTA was playing a very prominent role in spreading the true and peaceful teachings of Islam across the world.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“In this era the Promised Messiah was sent to establish and revive the true teachings of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and so in this great effort and in this great mission you are having the opportunity to help and assist.

Thus you are all the fortunate ones who are able to share in the blessings and rewards of this noble and divine mission. Always remember just how lucky you are, no matter where in MTA you are able to serve.”

Continuing, His Holiness said:

“If you are a volunteer who stands silently behind a camera you are very fortunate. If you are a staff member working in any department of MTA then you are very fortunate. If you are a presenter or panelist in any MTA programme then you are very fortunate.

If you are working in Production and developing new techniques or are editing footage then you are very fortunate. If you are charged with broadcasting MTA programmes from the Transmission Department then you too are very fortunate.

Indeed, if you are able to serve in any capacity and are linked to MTA in any shape or form then you are truly blessed. And the reason you are so lucky is that you are working towards spreading the truth. You are bringing spiritual light into the homes of people across the world.”

During the event an annual report was also given by the Managing Director of MTA International, Munir-ud-din Shams during which he informed that during the past year MTA had produced more than 5,000 programmes which accounted for more than 2,500 hours of unique programming.

The delegates were also shown a 15-minute video highlighting the continued progress of MTA during its 20 year history.
