On 16 February 2014, the World Head and Fifth Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community inaugurated a newly built extension to ‘Tahir House’ on Deer Park Road in south-west London. The extension includes 8 new offices and a large warehouse.
A three-storey building, Tahir House was purchased in 2002 by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to house various central offices of the Community.
It is also home to the Makhzan-e-Tasaweer photo exhibition which charts key events in the history of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
To mark the occasion, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad chaired a short ceremony beginning with recitation of the Holy Quran.
A brief report was then given by the Chairman of Al-Shirkatul Islamiyyah, Mr Abdul Baqi Arshad.
Thereafter, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad prayed that the new extension proved to be blessed in all respects before leading a silent prayer.
Following the ceremony, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad was given a tour of the entire complex. His Holiness visited existing offices as well as newly built offices and also a large new warehouse that has been constructed.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad also visited the Makhzan-e-Tasaweer Exhibition.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad also led the Zuhr prayers at the complex.
Currently Tahir House is home to 20 central departments of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community including The Review of Religions, Al-Fazl International, Maryam and Al-Taqwa magazines.
The new warehouse and offices measure 18,100 square feet, an increase of 8,400 square feet.
