The World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Fifth Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, concluded the 122nd Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in India on Sunday 29 December 2013 with a faith-inspiring and powerful address.
The Khalifa addressed the final session via a satellite link from the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London. Over 17,000 people in Qadian attended the Jalsa, whilst almost 5,000 had gathered in London for the concluding session.
During his hour-long address, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad spoke of how God Almighty was guiding people towards Ahmadiyyat, the true Islam.
His Holiness said that many Muslims were “in despair” at the state of the Muslim world, but were unable to express their anxieties due to a fear of their so-called religious scholars, who he said were motivated only by their own selfish interests.
Nonetheless, there were many sincere Muslims who were praying for a Messiah and Mahdi to appear and Allah was answering their prayers by guiding them to the truth.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad gave both current day and historical examples of how people had joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community after seeing very clear, divinely inspired dreams illustrating the truth of the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian. His Holiness said there were countless such “astonishing” incidents.
The Khalifa concluded by speaking of how the opponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were continually attempting to stem its progress through their cruelties and aggression. His Holiness said their efforts would always be frustrated as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community had divine support.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Having witnessed Allah’s Guidance and Help, can we ever become scared or fearful due to the cruelties inflicted upon us by our opponents? Certainly not!”
His Holiness continued:
“Fourteen hundred years ago, Hazrat Bilal, tolerated all of the pain inflicted upon him, and responded only by saying ‘Allah is One, Allah is One’. And today, that example is a lesson to us as we face opposition and persecution.
It calls us to our real purpose, that in spite of these cruelties, we will spread the Oneness of God to the corners of the world and for its establishment we will never let our efforts, which are due to the Promised Messiah, ever decrease in any way.”
After his address, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad concluded the Jalsa Salana with a silent prayer.
