Historic Visit to Melbourne Commences
For the first time in history a Khalifa of the Promised Messiah has travelled to the city of Melbourne
The World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and Fifth Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad arrived in Melbourne on 9 October 2013 after a short flight from Sydney.
His visit marks a historic moment in the history of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat as it is the first time ever that a Khalifa has visited Melbourne.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad arrived at the Ahmadiyya Centre in Melbourne, located in the suburb Langwarrin, at 2pm and was greeted by over 700 Ahmadi Muslim men, women and children all overjoyed at seeing their spiritual leader. The local Ahmadi Muslims raised Islamic slogans and recited poems to express their joy at the arrival of their spiritual leader.
The Khalifa has a series of engagements whilst in Melbourne. Apart from meeting personally with the local Ahmadi Muslims, His Holiness will deliver the Friday Sermon from the Ahmadiyya Centre, marking the very first time a Khalifa has delivered a Friday Sermon from the city.
The sermon will be broadcast live on MTA International, streamed online and will be translated into multiple languages.
During his stay in Melbourne, His Holiness will also deliver the keynote address at a Special Reception being held in the city.
Already this year, His Holiness has delivered keynote addresses in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Spain, Germany and Singapore, whilst in 2012 he made addresses at both Capitol Hill and at the European Parliament.
In all of his sermons and addresses, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad conveys the true and peaceful teachings of Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad is on his second visit to Australia. Last week he delivered the keynote addresses at the 29th Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Australia.
