His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad Highlights the Importance of Financial Sacrifice and Announces the 92nd Year of Tehrik-e-Jadid
On 7 November 2025, The Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, delivered his Friday Sermon from Masjid Mubarak in Islamabad, Tilford, in which he announced the commencement of the 92nd year of Tehrik-e-Jadid – a global scheme of financial sacrifice established to spread the peaceful message of Islam and support humanitarian and educational initiatives around the world.
Opening the sermon, His Holiness recited the verse from the Holy Qur’an:
“The similitude of those who spend their wealth for the cause of Allah is like a grain of corn which grows seven ears, in each ear a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies it further for whomsoever He pleases.” (2:262)
His Holiness explained that Tehrik-e-Jadid, initiated in 1934 by the Second Caliph, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him), was founded during a period of intense opposition to the Community. It was established to ensure that Islam’s message of peace could continue to be spread globally, even in the face of persecution.
His Holiness highlighted that through the blessings of Tehrik-e-Jadid, the Community has built mosques, schools, hospitals, media networks, and established missionary training colleges in multiple continents.
While mentioning the promise that God multiplies the reward of those who spend in His cause, His Holiness cited examples from Islamic history, including the sacrifices of the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who devoted all they had to serve their faith and were rewarded abundantly.
His Holiness narrated inspiring examples of modern-day Ahmadis whose sacrifices displayed the same qualities as those of the companions. His Holiness stated that it is through such sacrifices that God bestows great blessings.
Concluding his sermon, His Holiness announced that during the 91st year of Tehrik-e-Jadid, members of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community contributed £19.55 million, marking an increase of over £1.5 million from the previous year. His Holiness then announced the commencement of the 92nd year of this blessed scheme.
