On 19 October 2025, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Students’ Association (AMWSA) Canada had the blessed opportunity to meet with the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. The meeting took place in Masroor Hall, Islamabad, UK, where 107 students were present and had the privilege to personally speak with His Holiness.

AMWSA serves as the official student body of Lajna Imaillah – the women’s auxiliary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community – established to nurture the moral and spiritual development of Ahmadi Muslim women.

During the meeting, students had the opportunity to seek the guidance of His Holiness on a wide range of matters, as well as on challenges faced by students in today’s world.

One attendee asked His Holiness how a person can maintain a balance between their worldly and spiritual lives, and how to manage moments of stress during studies.

In response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“The first and foremost thing is that a person should be regular in offering the five daily prayers. One should bow before Allah with complete sincerity. At times, when a person sincerely humbles themselves before Allah, He accepts their prayers as a means of spiritual experience. I am sure, at some point, you must have had a prayer accepted by Him. Perhaps, once, in a moment of desperation, you may have thought there was no hope left, that the matter was over – yet you prayed with tears in your eyes, and Allah accepted that prayer. Thus, always, whenever you face such difficult or stressful times, turn to Allah in prayer.”

Another attendee asked His Holiness how Ahmadi Muslims can strengthen and deepen their understanding of the importance of Khilafat [the Caliphate], the system of spiritual leadership guiding Ahmadi Muslims worldwide.

Explaining the true significance and objective of Caliphate, His Holiness stated:

“In every organisation, there must be leadership. Without a leader, no group can function properly… In the same way, Allah the Almighty has established the system of the Caliphate. After a Prophet, there must be a successor to continue his mission; otherwise, everyone would form their own path and build their own mosque, just as has happened among other Muslims today.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) foretold that in the fourteenth century (after his advent), the Promised Messiah would appear, and following him, the system of the Caliphate would be re-established so that the spiritual mission bestowed upon him through the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) could continue and be fulfilled. The purpose of the Caliphate, therefore, is to carry forward this mission…”

His Holiness continued:

“Nowhere else in the world does such unity exist… It is only the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community – now established in over 200 countries – that is united under one spiritual Caliphate. This is the true purpose and significance of the Caliphate: that you have one leadership which continually guides you and provides spiritual and moral training according to the needs of the time.”

His Holiness further stated:

“At times, I may deliver a Friday Sermon addressing matrimonial issues arising in Canada, and then members in the UK write saying they are facing the same challenges. People from Turkey, Russia, and South America also write to say that the guidance given has resolved their own problems. This is unity – and it exists because we are all under one banner, the banner of the Caliphate. This, indeed, is the purpose of the Caliphate: to keep everyone bound together as one hand. If you understand this, you will remain steadfast; if not, then each person will end up with their own teaching and be divided.”

Critiquing the lack of unity amongst Muslim nations, His Holiness stated:

“Why are Muslims suffering today despite being 1.5 billion strong, spread across 54 countries, possessing wealth, power, and oil?… It is because they have no unified leader, no one to guide or protect them. Each nation pursues its own vested interests. That is why the Muslim world remains divided and powerless.”

One girl asked His Holiness how to respond to those who judge them.

During a detailed response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:

“There is no need to fall into any sense of inferiority or complex because of others. If people look or make remarks, the sin is upon them. They will be answerable before Allah, and He will hold them to account.”

Towards the end of the meeting, His Holiness addressed the students collectively about establishing their identity in society without fear and to holding firm to the teachings of God Almighty.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“You must offer your prayers – that is our true purpose. Hold firmly to this objective and hold firmly to Allah the Almighty. Once you do so, you will begin to find delight in your prayers and will do well in your studies. You must also understand and establish your identity – that as Ahmadis, who we are and how we are to convey the message of Islam and Ahmadiyyat to the world.”

His Holiness continued:

“Those of you who are students and educated should spread this message within your own circles. Let it be known through your excellent character and your distinct identity, so that the world is attracted towards you. Irrespective of your various fields – whether you are a chartered accountant, a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, or a teacher – every Ahmadi girl holds a special status. You must establish that unique identity. Once you do so, you will become ambassadors [of the Caliph]… Understand this and become true ambassadors of Khilafat and convey the message of the Community to the world.”
