Second Group Of Ahmadi Muslim Youth From The East Region Of The United States Have Honour Of Meeting His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
“As immigrants and as Muslims, we must explain what role we are meant to play, what role we are already playing, and what Islam actually teaches us. This message must be spread far and wide” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 29 September 2025, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, met the second group of members of East Region of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya USA (the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association) at the Mubarak Mosque complex in Islamabad, UK.
During the meeting, the attendees introduced themselves and had the chance to present their questions to His Holiness and seek his guidance on a variety of matters related to their faith and contemporary issues.
One attendee asked His Holiness how to pray when making major life decisions and whether to wait for a sign from God the Almighty.
With regards to this, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“First, you may pray. Pray to God Almighty. Offer at least two raka‘at of nawafil [voluntary prayer] every day for any important matter… Pray that if it is good for you in the eyes of Allah the Almighty, may He make it easy to reach your target or complete this task; if not, may He remove this desire from your heart. If you are satisfied in your heart, it means it is ok – it is not necessary that you receive some sign. Even sometimes prophets do not receive any sign, or other pious people. If they are satisfied in their hearts that what they are going to do is going to be good for them then they do it. And that of itself is a sign that Allah wants this to be done.”
His Holiness further advised the attendee to remain steadfast in offering the five daily prayers, and to supplement them with voluntary prayers (nawafil), ideally in the form of Tahajjud.
One attendee who had lost his mother asked His Holiness about coping with grief and hardship.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad responded by saying:
“Pray to Allah the Almighty that He may comfort you and give satisfaction to your heart. Pray for the high status of your mother in paradise. This is how you will remember her and, in this way, you will feel that you still have a close relation with her. Also, recite Istighfar [seeking forgiveness from Allah] and seek His help. Only Allah is the One who can satisfy your heart, so seek His help all the time in your prayer. Since she was your mother, you cannot forget her love, her kindness, her different characteristics – and that should make you work hard and achieve those goals which she wanted for you.”
An attendee asked His Holiness about the increasing political polarisation between the left and right in the United States, and sought guidance on how members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community should respond to such divisions.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“This is not just an issue in the United States; it is increasing all over the world. Here in the UK, there is a [right wing] politician, who previously won only a few seats but, now it is being predicted that in the next election he may even secure a majority. Similar trends are visible in Germany, across Europe, and throughout the West. At the heart of this rise is opposition to immigrants, and within that, most of the opposition is directed towards Muslims.”
His Holiness explained to the attendees that well over a decade ago, he had instructed Ahmadi Muslims to try to educate at least 5% of the population each year about the true teachings of Islam and to show that Islam is a religion of peace and if this had been done, the people would not be so misinformed about Islam. Therefore, His Holiness emphasised that Ahmadi Muslims must take on this responsibility with diligence and convey the true message of Islam to the wider public in a concerted manner.
Encouraging Ahmadi Muslims to strive towards this, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Thus, just as they [anti-Islam groups] are running their campaigns, we too must launch a movement – one that educates people about the true (peaceful) teachings of Islam. As immigrants and as Muslims, we must explain what role we are meant to play, what role we are already playing, and what Islam actually teaches us. This message must be spread far and wide. Similarly, you must hold programs and explore new methods (to convey Islam’s true teachings). You should organise seminars. Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya [the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association] should hold youth seminars – whether in universities or amongst academics – so that they come to know what Islam truly teaches, and that they see we are integrated within our countries and are working for the betterment of society.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“Nothing can be achieved while sitting at home – effort is always required.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued and said:
“Our teaching is that we must serve the country according to our abilities and capacities, and we are doing so. This awareness must be spread, and it must be done on a very large scale. Therefore, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya [Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association], the Community as a whole, Lajna Imaillah [Ahmadiyya Muslim Womens Association], and Ansarullah [Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association] all need to plan in this regard. If you do this, you will achieve something. It cannot happen in a single year; it may take many years.”
An attendee then mentioned that rising inflation and the increasing cost of living have made it difficult for young people and newly married couples to manage, and that this struggle at times affects their ability to serve the Community.
In response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Inflation exists everywhere in the world… People’s preferences have changed. Previously, if a person had two meals a day, he would say, ‘I am fine, I have no problem.’ Now, however, desires have increased.”
His Holiness continued:
“If a person develops contentment, then everything becomes fine. Think to yourself: ‘Allah has given me enough; I am in a better state than many others.’ There are countless countries and people in the world who cannot find food and are dying of hunger. In some places there is famine, drought, or governments are killing and depriving people – just as Israel is doing with the Palestinians, who cannot even get food. Meanwhile, we are sitting at home eating comfortably. So be grateful, and Allah will give more. Allah states in the Holy Qur’an that if you are grateful for the favours He has bestowed upon you, He will multiply them. The fundamental point is that if you have contentment, then (material) desires disappear. When desires are not there, everything balances itself. If both husband and wife understand this in the home, then they can manage with whatever allowance they receive.”
His Holiness further explained that supporting the needy and giving in charity invites God’s blessings and puts blessings in one’s wealth،
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“One should also give in charity, to care for the poor. When you give, Allah puts blessings in your wealth. The real thing is blessing.”
A young attendee then asked His Holiness how they can propogate the message of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community without fear or embarrassment within their school and environment.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“To achieve any task, one must have courage. If you have courage, then what is there to be ashamed of? People already know that you are Muslims, so what is there to hide? Once they know, the hesitation should be gone. A Muslim should have a noble character and play a positive role in society. In this, your own example is what matters. Say openly, ‘Yes, we are Muslims. If we do good, we do so because this is what our faith teaches us. And if someone does wrong, then he is acting against the teachings of Islam.’”
His Holiness continued:
“The shortcomings that are visible among Muslims should be acknowledged openly. When I address the public, I make it clear that certain Muslims are acting wrongly, but that this is against the true teachings of Islam. I explain what Islam actually teaches, and what should be done.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:
“So, the point is that you must speak clearly and courageously, without fear. If a Muslim does wrong, it is against the teaching of Islam. Wrongdoers exist everywhere – there is no one who can claim that there are no wrongdoers amongst atheists, Jews, Christians or Hindus. Crime is not a matter of religion; it is a matter of individual character. Therefore, speak openly and fearlessly.”
