Ahmadi Youth From The East Region Of The United States Have Honour Of Meeting His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
“Whenever you are going to start any work, always think that until and unless you complete it, you will never give up. You should have this determination within you.”
On 20 September 2025, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, met with members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya) USA from the East Region at the Mubarak Mosque complex in Islamabad, UK.
During the meeting, attendees introduced themselves and had the opportunity to present questions to His Holiness and seek guidance on a wide range of personal, spiritual, and contemporary matters.
One attendee asked about preparations for the upcoming first National Ijtema of the USA to be hosted in Baghe Ahmad, a farmland which lies within their region. His Holiness inquired into the available space, ground levels, tents, and other arrangements.
Advising them about the importance of learning from one another from across the world, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Develop the area properly. Today Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya UK’s Ijtema is taking place, which is also taking place on farmland. Go and see how they have utilised it. When you come for Jalsa Salana at Hadeeqatul Mahdi you will be able to assess how the space is used.”
One student asked His Holiness how he could balance his education with the responsibilities of serving the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
In response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Pray that when Allah the Almighty gives you some responsibility, He also grants you the ability to fulfil it. Currently, your main objective is your education. First complete your degree and focus on your studies.”
After learning that this young attendee was aspiring to pursue a career in medicine, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad added:
“Medicine requires a great deal of hard work, so work hard. When you have some extra time, on weekends or during holidays, then give that to the service of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. If some responsibility is assigned to you, perhaps that of a ‘Saiq’, then see how you can properly distribute your time… But your main objective should be to complete your studies. And along with this, continue to offer your prayers and continue to acquire religious knowledge. Being a Waqf-e-Nau, it is your obligation and duty to offer the five daily prayers.”
In response to a question about developing strong willpower, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Pray to Allah the Almighty that He may give you strength to overcome all the minor and petty issues which you come across during your life. [Secondly], you must have the mindset that you have strong nerves and you can overcome every difficulty.”
His Holiness explained that in order to develop strong willpower, one must first cultivate strong nerves.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further elaborated by stating:
“Whenever you are going to start any work, always think that until and unless you complete it, you will never give up. You should have this determination within you.”
When asked about Islamic guidance on keeping moustaches and beards, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad explained:
“It is stated that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: grow your beards and trim your moustaches – cut the moustaches and let the beard grow. However, grow it reasonably. It should not be that you make it so long like such people whose beards just keep on growing without any limit… Islam teaches that you should trim the moustache and grow the beard reasonably… Keep it according to the practice of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and what he prescribed.”
Another attendee asked how Khuddam today can avoid wasting time and instead become disciplined and progress so as to make Islam’s name shine in the world.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad gave detailed guidance:
“First, seek Allah’s help; for that, you have to be very much regular in your five daily prayers. Offer your prayers fervently and pray to Allah that He increases you in knowledge and strength [so that you may] work for His religion. If you are regular in offering your five daily prayers, it will become a means of making you more disciplined in other activities.”
His Holiness further advised the attendees to create a daily schedule, outlining their prayers, studies, and other activities, so that no time is wasted.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Get up early in the morning, offer Fajr. Do some exercise, study, and read the Holy Qur’an with translation and commentary. Understand it and know the meaning of it. This way you will know what are the commandments and injunctions in the Holy Quran that you have to follow. After this, study and make a chart for the entire day which outlines that this is what you have to do.”
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated the importance of offering the five daily prayers and how it can improve one’s discipline:
“The [Five Daily] prayers are in itself a source of discipline. If you are regular in your prayers, then you yourself will experience that your life is disciplined and that will help you… This is how you can serve the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and make your life disciplined and make your other worldly activities better.”
