More than 2,000 people from across the UK attend annual event

On 19 October 2014, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad delivered the concluding address at the 32nd Annual Ijtema of Majlis Ansarullah UK.

The 3-day event, which was attended by more than 2,200 people from across the United Kingdom, was held at the Baitul Futuh Mosquecomplex in south-west London.

During his address, His Holiness spoke of the significance of the auxiliary organisation ‘Majlis Ansarullah’ and outlined the responsibilities of individual members in light of the writings of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian.

His Holiness stated that the term ‘Ansarullah’ meant ‘Helpers of Allah’ and so it was the duty of every member to serve the cause of true and peaceful Islam to the best of their abilities.

He said that given the fact that members of ‘Ansarullah’ were all aged 40 or above they should utilise their maturity and experience fully in their efforts to be true ‘Helpers of Allah’.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad explained that God did not have any need for ‘Helpers’ as He Himself was the ‘Possessor of all Powers’, however due to God’s infinite Grace he has given Muslims the opportunity to serve and propagate their faith so that they can be come recipients of His blessings and rewards.

Speaking about the duties of true Helpers of Allah, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“On the one hand, is our duty to proclaim the Oneness of God and to invite people towards Him and to teach them about the true and pristine teachings of Islam. However, even before this, we must assess ourselves to see to what extent we personally are following Islam’s true teachings.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“We have to inculcate Islam’s true teachings into our daily lives and lead by our positive example. This is the means to show the people of the world the purity and nobility of our master, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and is the means of proving that Islam is a living religion.”

His Holiness said that Islam required mankind to fulfil both the rights owed to God and the rights owed to God’s Creation. He said that with each day that passes, Ahmadi Muslims must strive to better themselves in fulfilling both of these fundamental objectives of their faith.

His Holiness said that the Promised Messiah taught that the Holy Quran is a book of enlightenment, with a universal and eternal teaching. He taught that it should not be considered a book of ‘stories’ but rather as a ‘philosophy for life’.

Later in his address, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad gave examples of people in different parts of the world that had been guided to Ahmadiyyat, the true Islam, through divine guidance.

He said the continued success and progress of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was due to entirely to the blessings of God Almighty. The Ijtema concluded with a silent prayer led by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
